At
affordable Italy we are passionate about Italy, the people, the
regions, the food, the wine. There is so much to see. But we are
not blinkered. We seek out both the beautiful and the everyday
Italy. Small villages, priceless paintings in secluded country
churches. Lemons so sweet they can be eaten like oranges.
At
Affordable Italy we try to find you the perfect holiday, whether
you are looking for a holiday home or a dream home. We spend a
lot of the year just exploring Italy, looking for new and exciting
places.
Italy is a land of seasons. The autumn, when the visitors have
gone home, is magical. Restaurants with local specialities. Crackling
log fires. The woods echoing to the sound of chestnuts dropping
onto the leafy forest floor.
We
are not just a “summer only” service. At Affordable
Italy we work throughout the year looking for the perfect holiday
for you. At Affordable Italy prices.

you’re on a short break you’ll want to make the
best use of your time with no queuing. The Academia and the
Uffizi galleries in Florence are a must on any visitor’s
list. If you buy your entrance tickets ahead of time you may
pay a little more than the ticket price but you are guaranteed
entry when you want it, and you will beat
the queues! Our pre-booking service is available
for most major attractions in all of the major Italian cities
and really will save you time and frustration. Staying in Florence
needn’t be expensive. You can find hotels in Florence
from as little as €45 a night.The

you do plan a two city break then Florence and Lucca are a
good choice.The

Lake
Garda |
| |
Lake
Garda is a very easy place to reach, with excellent roads,
two major airports, Verona and Verona Brescia, plus a main
railway line.
The best place to start a Lake Garda holiday is from Desenzano,
which is conveniently placed at the base of the lake. From
here you can visit all of the towns and villages dotted around
the shore, and during the summer months the ferries ply back
and forth criss-crossing the lake in all directions. From
Desenzano, Verona is easily reached by public transport with
excellent bus and train services.
All of our featured hotels come highly recommended. However,
in our opinion, the gem of the collection is The
Hotel Vittorio in Desenzano. For personal choice,
we always stay here when visiting Lake Garda. The views from
the rooms are exactly as shown on The
Hotel Vittorio web pages. Plus you can download
a very informative map of The Lake Garda area.
In addition to The Hotel Vittorio, we can offer you a further
200 hotels to choose from in the Lake Garda area. For further
information click on the handy guide to Lake
Garda Hotels.
On our homepage we mentioned cruising
on Lake Garda and enjoying a two-course lunch
including wine and coffee for only €15. This link will
take you to the Lake Navigation web page, which lists all
of the ferries, timetables and onboard catering facilities.
A taxi from Verona Brescia airport to Desenzano will cost
you about €50, but if a group of you are travelling together
then a minibus for up to eight people with a full “meet
and greet” service is available from Holiday
Taxis which may be a more convenient alternative.

Travel
Insurance |
| |
If you reside in the United Kingdom then you should qualify
for a European Health Insurance card, which is recognised
throughout The European Union. More information can be found
on the NHS helpline www.ehic.org.uk/
- The card can be very helpful if you need medical attention
in any of the member state countries.
It is still advisable to take out travel insurance as the
card may only cover part treatment. Travel
insurance can cover you for repatriation, missed
flights, loss of money, personal injury, missing or stolen
luggage and personal effects and so on. If you make more than
one trip abroad each year then yearly cover holiday insurance
makes sense. Taking out your own insurance will save you a
lot of money compared with single trip policies that are sold
by airlines and travel companies.
